Flex Acre Tank Lid Support Upgrade Guide

Summary: This guide details how to install the 3 Support Posts provided in your kit. These posts add structural support to the tank lid, closing gaps to reduce algae growth and ensuring the planting panels remain in the correct position for optimal irrigation.

1. Kit Inventory

Please verify your kit contains the following items before beginning:

  • 3x Tank Lid Support Posts

Required Tools:

  • Step Ladder

3. Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Safety & Setup

  1. Unplug both the pump and the lights from the power source.

  2. Set up your step ladder on one side of the Flex Acre. You will perform the entire installation from this side.

Step 2: Drip Line Preparation

  1. Remove all 8 Top Caps from the top of the unit.

  2. Locate the Drip Line on the side you are working on.

  3. Gently pop the Drip Line out of its channel.

    • Note: You do not need to disconnect the line. Simply move it a few inches to the side and rest it on top of the adjacent Top Caps/Root Chambers so it is out of the way.

Step 3: Identify Install Locations

You will install 3 posts total along the center of the unit. They are spaced every 2 Root Chambers:

  • Post 1: Between chambers 2 & 3.

  • Post 2: Between chambers 4 & 5 (Middle).

  • Post 3: Between chambers 6 & 7.

Step 4: Install Support Posts

Repeat the following process for each of the 3 posts:

  1. Slide the Root Chamber Up: At the installation location, slide the Root Chamber closest to you up approximately 2 feet and rest it on the tank lid to create an access gap.

  2. Insert the Post: Guide the Support Post into the tank through the gap you just created.

    • Note: Identify the Tank Lid Opening (the hole with the plug) closest to your install position. You should guide the Support Post below the tank lid through this specific area.

  3. Wedge into Place: Position the post upright in the center of the unit, where the 4 Root Chamber corners meet.

    • Technique: Lead with the top of the post, tucking it under the tank lid rim first.

    • Then, wedge the bottom of the post against the bottom of the tank.

    • Note: This fit will be very snug. The post is designed to slightly raise the tank lid height.

  4. Secure & Reset: Ensure the post is standing straight up between the 4 corners, then immediately slide the Root Chamber back down into position.

Step 5: Reassemble

  1. Once all 3 posts are installed and all Root Chambers are back in position, snap the Drip Line back into its original channel.

  2. Reinstall all 8 Top Caps. They will simply snap into place over the drip line.

  3. Plug the pumps and lights back in.
