Step 1
CASTERS AND DRAINAGE VALVE TUBING
Set the right and left sides of the caster frame side-by-side on the floor, wheel side down. Line up the holes and insert the cotter pin through the overlapped holes.
Align the grooves on the bottom of the tanks to the assembled caster. Gently press each tank into place.
Line up the drainage valve tubing to the back left and right tank fittings. Ensure the valve “open and close” tab is face up.
Check the two blue locks located at the ends of the drainage valve tubing are in the open position. This is when the blue locks are closest to the elbow joint in the tubing.
To attach the drainage valve tubing to tanks, start on the left side and push the grey elbow fitting with the blue lock on the tubing towards the tank fitting. Click into place. Two clicks indicate it is secure. Repeat on the right. Please note that you may need to apply some generous force to connect the grey elbows with the blue clips to the tanks.
On the inside of the left tank, attach the tank screen to the fitting by screwing into the fitting clockwise. Hand tighten until secure. Repeat on the right tank.
To check for proper assembly, pull firmly on the drain valve. It is secure if the tubing does not detach from the tanks.
Step 2
TANKS AND PUMP
Attach tank knobs to each tank lid by inserting a screw through each hole in the lid from the inside and tighten.
Identify the left tank and right tank lids. The left lid has a small round hole in addition to the large oval opening.
Put the tank lids on the tanks. Position the tank knobs towards the front (where the caster opens). Push firmly down on all edges to ensure a secure fit.
Locate the water pump box. Identify the ½ inch fitting and attach to the body of the pump.
Set the pump on top of the left tank lid and thread the power cord down through the large oval opening and then back out of the tank through the small round opening in the lid.
Identify the end of the vertical irrigation without the valve. Insert this end into the tank through the round opening. Pull the vertical irrigation line out of the tank through the large oval opening and connect to the pump 1/2 inch fitting.
Place the pump into the pump filter bag, allowing the power cord and vertical irrigation line to exit the bag. Tie the pump filter bag closed and place the pump into the bottom of the tank through the oval opening.
Gently pull the vertical irrigation line and power cord exiting the tank to position the pump near the back of the tank.
Put the lid plugs on the left and right oval tank openings on the lids.
Step 3
ROOT CHAMBERS AND PANELS
Starting from the back, insert the side of the root chamber without notches into each tank through slot in the tank lid. Repeat until all eight are inserted.
Insert four panels, tab side first, into the top of each root chamber by sliding them through the root chamber rails. The plant spaces should face outward. Repeat for all 32 panels.
Start with the left drip line (has Y-fitting). Align the drip line with the top of the root chambers so valves are at the front of the Flex Farm and the drip line holes line up with plant spaces. Press the drip line into the root chambers to lock in place.
Connect the Y-fitting attached to the left drip line to the right.
Connect the bottom of the Y-fitting to the vertical irrigation line attached to the pump.
Install a top cap on each root chamber to secure the drip lines. The long side of the top cap should be facing inwards on the Flex Farm toward the panel.
Step 4
LIGHT TOWER
Locate the light tower, base and three base pins. Carefully lay the light tower horizontally on the ground. Remove the three base pins and set them aside.
Lift up the bottom of the light tower and slide on the base. Turn until one side is flat on the ground and the pin holes align.
Insert the first pin securely, and repeat the process for the remaining two pins. Grab the light tower by the handle and stand it up.
Warning: Electrical hazard. To avoid severe injury or death, ensure the light tower is disconnected/unplugged from the electrical outlet during assembly.
