Green Governance: How Fork Farms Builds Transparency and Trust

Written by Krista Koranda | Sep 23, 2025 3:00:02 PM

At Fork Farms, we believe that real impact happens when mission and metrics go hand in hand. We are a mission-first agriculture tech company that believes all people should have access to fresh food. As we near the end of another year, a time when many organizations pause to reflect, report, and recalibrate, we’re proud to share how our commitment to strong governance is helping us grow responsibly and transparently.

Every decision we make at Fork Farms starts with our mission: to unleash the power of fresh food for every person, every day. That mission drives our approach to innovation, operations, and partnership. It also guides how we hold ourselves accountable as a company and a good corporate citizen.

For us, good governance is the framework that ensures our actions reflect our values and means:

  • Building partnerships based on mutual respect and shared goals.
  • Making data-informed decisions that advance both impact and efficiency.
  • Listening to feedback from the communities we serve and adapting when needed.

Growth That Stays Grounded

Our expansion into new schools, nonprofits, and community organizations across the country has been rapid over the past years, and importantly, very thoughtful at the same time. We’ve developed clear internal systems that help us grow in ways that are sustainable and aligned to our mission, including:

  • Transparent reporting on the environmental and educational impact of Flex Farms.
  • Carefully cultivated partnerships with organizations that focus on equity and long-term community benefit.
  • Thoughtful scaling that ensures every new Flex Farm has the support and resources to thrive.

At Fork Farms, we don’t just aim to grow fast—we aim to grow well for today and tomorrow. Today, more than 4,500 Flex Farms are growing in K-12 schools across the country, and the environmental impact of our Flex Farms are real - In 2023, our Flex Farms had the capacity to save 4.6 million food miles, 567 thousand pounds of food waste, 12 million kWh of CO2, and 32 million gallons of water in communities across the globe. Data That Builds Confidence

We know that trust is earned, and we work each day to support our partners' needs and successes. That’s why we invest in tools and systems that help our partners clearly see the outcomes of their work. From farm performance dashboards to real-time metrics on food output, schools and organizations have access to the data that matters most.

Transparency also means acknowledging that we don’t have all the answers, and that’s a good thing. We work alongside our partners to co-create solutions, iterate on best practices, and shape the future of decentralized agriculture together. As a company, we lead with empathy and partnership. We are also constantly seeking to push the boundaries of knowledge. In addition to working with our partners, we continuously engage stakeholders outside of our organization to seek feedback so that we can constantly improve our technology, products, and people.

As we move into the second half of 2025, we’re doubling down on our commitment to thoughtful governance. When trust is strong, impact can grow deeper, and that’s exactly the kind of growth we’re here for.
